A Dungeon Proof of Concept
A downloadable game for Windows
A Proof of Concept
After finishing my first game that was a Mario clone, I decided that I wanted to try making a Zelda clone. This Proof of Concept is a single dungeon with several different types of puzzles, several different enemies, and a boss.
While I did enjoy making this, ultimately I don't think it's the type of game I want to use to bring my current idea to life. It was good experience though. This project forced me to learn a lot, especially about shaders and plugins. Learning more and more is what game dev is all about!
Controls:
- Movement - WASD
- I - Toggles the Inventory window
- While Inventory is open
- WASD - Move selection cursor
- J, K, L - Assign selected item to action button
- J, K, L - Action buttons
- Press to use assigned inventory
- Select/Confirm (ex: Read signs, open chests)
- ESC - Close application
I do apologize for the lack of polish! There is no way to restart the game other than to close it and reopen it. The volume is about 50%, but I didn't add in a settings menu. This Proof of Concept was finished a couple months ago, but I was unsure if I wanted to continue or not. I had to take a step back to really evaluate it. Now that a conclusion has been made, I wanted to just wrap it up as neatly and quickly as I could. That way I can call it officially finished and move on to the next concept!
